CFOX GUITAR AT BOSTONS MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS

HEALDSBURG, Calif., November, 2000 The 1970s GRD M1 electric guitar made by Charles Fox, president of CFox Guitars, is included in Bostons Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) exhibit Dangerous Curves: Art of the Guitar. The show features 130 guitars and provides a historical survey of instrument design innovations since the 16th century.

Its extraordinary to find my work in such distinguished company, says Fox. To be included in this exhibit with Antonio Stradivari, Antonio De Torres and Orville Gibson is truly an honor. More incredible, though, is that there are more luthiers creating guitars of the highest possible quality today than at any other time in history. MFA Director Malcolm Rogers adds, The artisans who crafted these instruments over the centuries were true masters of visual and acoustical design, creating objects that are both beautiful and supremely functional. This landmark exhibition explores the remarkable evolution of the guitar, bringing attention to the instruments role in the performing arts while focusing on its place in the world of the applied arts. The Exhibit runs from November 5, 2000 through February 25, 2001 at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. CFox Guitars produces a full line of performance-quality acoustic guitars, hand made in the heart of Californias wine country. CFox Guitars headquarters are located at 449 Allan Court, Healdsburg, Calif., 95448; telephone: 707/433-8228; www.cfoxguitars.com.
